This yearly event promotes the preservation of our local traditional arts and cultural endeavours. Sabah Museum aims to spread awareness and to foster a sense of appreciation for the culture of traditional arts and crafts produced by various ethnic groups from various districts in the state. The Sabah Museum will be holding craft and arts demonstrations and clinics at the Sabah Museum Heritage Village, Agnes Keith House in Sandakan, Agop Batu Tulug Museum in Kinabatangan and Keningau Heritage Museum. Cultural performances will be held in conjunction with the 49th anniversary of the Sabah Museum which falls on 15 July.

Moginakan Festival 5 - 6 Jul 2014
This event is held at Kg. Nunuk Ragang, Ranau to mark the installation of the Kadazandusun’s Huguan Siou (paramount leader) and to commemorate the original settlement of the Kadazandusun community. Visitors can scour for bargain finds at the Tamu (open air market) or enjoy events such as the traditional sports and cultural performances.

Sandakan Warrior’s Day Celebration 31 July 2014
The event commemorates the soldiers who died defending the sovereignty of the country. In conjunction with this event, the traditional laying of the wreaths will take place at several monuments in Sandakan including those at the Sandakan Municipal Council Square and Jalan Istana.
